Weekly Update

Happy Day, Families!

What fabulous summer weather we are having! More good things:
  • Mark your calendars for open library times on Wednesday, August 9 from 9-10am and 5:30-6:30pm. Staff will again be on hand to connect!
  • How is your copy of our one book, one school read, The Adventures of a South Pole Pig? If you Tweet, please include the hashtag #pp1book and or #peachplains. :)This book will frame the beginning of our year.
  • Coast Guard is nearly upon us... GHAPS staff will be walking in the kids parade on Saturday, 7.29 at the Kids Parade. The traditional Kids Day at Mulligans Hollow is Tuesday, 8.1. I heard some Peach students were even entering the cardboard boat races this year! Check out the events calendar.
PLACEMENT LETTERS & SUPPLY LISTS: The stores have back-to-school swag out... While we encourage families to still focus on enjoying summer, note placement letters will be mailed on 8.18. For those interested in getting a jump start on materials, check out our supply lists. A reminder no child will be denied access to materials necessary for learning. We will ensure learners receive what is needed.

PANTHER PREVIEW WED 8.30: Save the date - see the attached for our big kick-off!

NEW PANTHER WELCOME EVENT: Do you have a new student joining our team, in grades 1-4? A special welcome will be offered on Monday, 8.28. An invite will be emailed.

PARENT SPORTS RESOURCE: GHAPS Athletics kindly invites parents to a talk, featuring Duke University Sport Psychology and Sport Ethics Professor Dr. Greg Dale. If you have kiddos active in sports, this could be informative. See the attached for details.

Thanks for the continued efforts with learning! Hope to see you on 8.9!

Kindly-
Team Peach
